This week in 7th Social Studies....
Class Outline May 18th - 22nd:
This week in social studies students will be studying the fall of the Roman Empire and the greater impact that the Romans had, and still have, on human history. In class, students will be reading a secondary source on the causes of Rome’s fall and the beginning Byzantine Empire. Students will then complete JOT dot notes with a partner and answer questions from the reading. The Fall of the Roman Empire notes and questions will be due on Friday. DBQ project presentations will begin on Thursday the 21st.
Please note, I will be out of the building Monday through Wednesday on the 6th grade outdoor education trip.
*** If students would like to retake any assessments or turn in any missing work before the end of the year it must be on Thursday or Friday this week. No exceptions. ***

Ancient Rome DBQ Presentation
Using the Document Based Question that you selected (Citizenship in Athens and Rome, What Were the Primary Reasons for the “Fall”, or Why Did Christianity Take Hold) prepare a presentation to explain to your teacher and classmates what your stance is on the question. You may use any medium you choose (written paper, poster, website, video documentary, etc) but you must still complete the requirements in the attached rubric. The DBQ packet is due completed Wednesday May 13th and the presentation is due in class the following Thursday May 21st. You are required to present your argument to the class for full credit. Be creative. There are extra style points available.
